Together, we work to ensure that every student receives the highest quality education and the encouragement they need to thrive. With parents, staff, and students united, there’s no limit to what we can achieve!
Hi, my name is Laura Polanco and I am the proud Parent Coordinator at P.S. 207.
Ps 207 is a special place because...
My journey began...
Dear PS 207 Families,
Welcome new and returning families. We are excited to kick off what we are sure will be another great year at PS 207. We are working hard to make sure that your child/children have a successful year of learning and growth, however, we know that we can’t do this alone. We need your support and involvement. The more involved you are in your child’s education, the more successful your child will be here.
One of the keys to your child’s success will be your ongoing involvement in our school community. Throughout the year, you will have opportunities to meet with your child’s teacher, attend informational sessions on the teaching approaches and participate in workshops on topics of special interest that will be planned and announced throughout the school year.
I urge you to join, attend the Parents’ Association meetings and events. It is an opportunity to meet other parents, to make new friends, is a valuable source of information and support for you and will offer you opportunities to contribute to our school community.
Please also attend the many events we host to celebrate our student’s success. As your child’s first and most important teacher, we also need you to help us get to know your child so that we can offer him/her the best learning experience possible.
I am available to each and every one of you to provide information, answer questions, help you access resources for your child and help you resolve problems that you or your child may encounter in the school. Please feel free to come to the main office, call me or email me when you need assistance.
All of us at PS 207 are very happy that you and your child are part of our family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you and your child get settled into the new school year.
Sincerely,
Parent Coordinator

Our School Leadership Team (SLT) is a mandatory, collaborative body composed of parents, staff, and the principal that develops educational policies, creates the Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP), and assesses the school's programs. Comprised of an equal number of parents and staff, the SLT includes a mandatory UFT representative and the PA/PTA president, and may also include students and Community-Based Organization representatives. As a public body, SLT meetings must adhere to New York's Open Meetings Law.
DOE Title I team" is best understood as the NYC Department of Education's Title I program structure, which includes a Citywide Title I Parent Advisory Council (PAC), District-level Parent Advisory Councils (DPACs), and school-level Title I Parent Advisory Councils (PACs). These parent-led committees, supported by the NYCDOE, are central to the federal Title I program, which provides funding for schools with high numbers of low-income families, ensuring parents are involved in decision-making, planning, and reviewing how Title I funds are used to improve student achievement.
